Camp Overview

Designed for students from age 16 - 22 to learn innovative teaching methods from award-winning educator, Angela Ammerman. Participants will refine their teaching skills through hands-on teaching and learning experiences and will be ready to captivate the attention of students from any age!  See below for an overview of the activities:

  • Week 1 - During the first week, participants will be trained by renowned music educators in the following categories:
    • Conducting Young Musicians
    • Managing Musicians
    • Motivating Musicians
    • Pacing and Engaging Students
    • Teaching diverse learners
  • Week 2 - In the second week, participants will apply their new skills in an elementary and/or middle school setting within local camps and will participate in all of the activities below:
    • Teach Private Lessons
    • Lead Sectionals
    • Conduct Full Rehearsals
    • Work alongside stellar music educators to put on a final performance
