I was the coordinator and assistant professor of music education at the University of Tennessee at Martin. I taught music education courses, conducted the UTM Orchestra, supervised student teachers, and advised upper division music education majors.

I taught orchestra and IB Music at Annandale High School in Fairfax County, Virginia. I directed a program of nearly 120 students varying from beginners to pre-professionals. This program was comprised with a wealth of English Language Learners, low income students, and students from all over the world.

Dr. Ammerman has presented at conferences, in-services, and professional developments across the US and even internationally. She is in high demand as a keynote speaker and as a presenter. Some of her favorite past speaking engagements include the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Conference, TMEA, FMEA, NAfME's Hill Day in Washington D.C., the American String Teachers Association Conference, and the Ohio Music Educators Association Conference!

Angela Ammerman is one of the most engaging conductors you will ever meet! We know your musicians will be floored by her energy, passion, and expertise. More importantly, Ammerman brings out the joy in music making through a highly interactive and student-driven teaching style. Ammerman has conducted multiple All State Orchestras including California and Georgia, and will conduct the Tennessee All State 9/10 Orchestra in 2023!
